BEAR SPRING'S MAY 16-19, 2014

COME BACK, RELAX, AND FISH!!

Greetings:

I am sure glad we have these vacations up north in May, because I didn't get much fishing in last year other than this trip! Every year it seems like a New Year's resolution to spend more time out on the water. After all, that's where I really enjoy nature and feel at peace. Somehow, the planning required to actually go fishing keeps the event from happening. When we go up to Bear Springs, a lot of the preparation is already done for us. We have the boats at our private docks, our meals are cooked for us, when it rains we have provisions in our cabin to pass the time, and the fish are trained to jump in the boat from time to time. I highly recommend this trip to those that never seem to get out on the water at home for one reason, or another.

Last year, we had a very nice sized group come up. There was a new guy, and I hope he forgives me for not placing his name with the face, but he was in Mark Allen's group. When I met him, he looked like he had never been in the woods before. He had on a baseball cap and jersey, gold necklace, and just was a stereotype of a city guy. My first thought was that he was going to be bored out of his mind up here. I approached his table with the sign-up sheet for the fishing pool and explained the rules. I don't recall if he signed up that day, but I do know he did the next. He went out fishing with a couple at the next table in the lodge later that day. He had a great time! He caught fish and was transformed! He was asking me where the sign-up sheet was for the next day because he wanted to enter the pool for bass fishing. He was having a great time, and when the last day of the trip came, he was already talking about 2014. I hope he comes back again. That's the experience this trip has to offer everyone, every year!

This year's trip is from Friday, May 16th -- Monday, May 19th! I would really like to see our group grow again. Please, share this destination place with people you know. There is no reason why we can't have a group twice our size. I will be taking a $100 deposit per person, non-refundable. Please, make checks out to Bear Spring Camps. I will be mailing out these letters the first week of February and they are due back to me with deposits by March 21st. I need to get them up to Peg, at Bear Springs, to hold our reservations. Also, anyone wishing to join our Thursday night group in Dover, NH, please make note on the application that you will be joining us. It is a nice way to break up the trip to Bear Springs and taste some of the local flavor. We stay at the Day's Inn Suites, in downtown Dover, and are in walking distance of all the best pubs in town!

See you on the water!

Sincerely,

Chris Chaffin
