BEAR SPRING'S MAY 19-22, 2017

This Holiday Season Brings Bear Springs 2017!!

home01.jpg

I hope I'm not the only one thinking, why the hell am I getting a fishing trip letter at this time of the year? Well, the secret is out that Bear Spring Camps is an awesome place to stay in May. Last year Peg wanted to know how much room we needed and it was only February. She suggested I get the letters out earlier this year. So, Merry Christmas, and add this trip to your Dear Santa list! In fact, you may even want to ask for more fish this year, extra bait, and one of those bobber coolers to drag behind your boat!

Last year, we extended the dates for the trip to allow a little flexibility with schedules. We all know how important it is to stay flexible. So, next year's trip is May 19-22 (Friday thru Monday), but you are welcome to show up on Thursday the 18th, if you'd like. Also, if you don't feel like leaving Monday, you may leave Tuesday the 23rd. Any combination of the above may also be appropriate as long as you eventually leave. Please, write the dates that you will be arriving and leaving on the registration form found online at Mayfishingtrip.com.

As tradition will continue, we will be reserving rooms in Dover, NH for those who would like to break up the drive north on Thursday. There is space on the registration form for letting me know if you will be joining us in Dover. The rooms are very nice, the food is great, and the drinks I can't remember! It's always a good time and my brother, Tim, does an awesome job organizing that every year.

For anyone new considering joining this trip, I hope you like to have fun! Bear Spring Camps provides our lodging, food, and boats for about $100 a day. The catching of fish is totally up to you! It's very reasonable and the hospitality is incredible. This trip requires a $100 per person deposit that is non-refundable. It's also on a first come basis, so we have a deadline of Feb 10th to return registrations and deposits this year. Please, print out an application from www. Mayfishingtrip.com, fill it out, make your food choices, mark your dates, request 14HP engine (if needed) and send back to me along with your deposit. My address is: Chris Chaffin 24 Goose Lane, Coventry CT 06238.

We will continue running the fishing pools on Saturday and Sunday for bass and pike. The fee is $5 for each category, each day. Also, just a reminder that gratuity is not included with the rates. Please, remember to bring cash, or check, since they do not accept credit cards at the camp.

Lastly, I've never had the chance to wish our group a Merry Christmas, or Happy Holidays, but I hope you are with friends and family. As I grow older, the holidays get more special as I realize just how quickly time goes by. Wishing you all the best from my family to yours... I'll see you on the water in May!

Best,

Chris Chaffin

A deposit of $100 per person is required and it is non-refundable, unless I haven't mailed them in yet. The annual letters will be mailed out by the first week of February and the deadline for the applications to be mailed in, with deposits, will be March 25th.

Some notes:

  • If anyone has photos of previous trips, please send them along to me to have them posted on our timeline.
  • There are fishing pools for a little competitive fun, one Saturday and one Sunday. They are broken into bass and pike, $5 each, and fish need to be photographed and weighed to compete.
  • There are a limited number of 15HP boats at the camps. These will be reserved on a first come, first served basis, and I will mark the applications as they come in.
  • If you do wish to request who you would like to cabin with, or a particular cabin, please specify and Peg will try to accommodate.
  • Lastly, gratuity is not included in the rates and often times we forget on the last day that we need to tip the help. Please, remember to bring cash for tips and fishing pools, and remember they do not take credit cards at Bear Springs, so plan ahead.
  • If you do not wish to receive an annual fishing letter any longer, please e-mail me at c_d_chaffin@yahoo.com and I will remove your name from the list. Thanks.

See you on the water!

Chris Chaffin
