BEAR SPRING'S MAY 18-21, 2018

home01.jpg

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your family this year! I hope this letter comes as a real distraction from shopping, listening to the same holiday classics on the radio, and the bombardment of advertisements sent every day to your email. I hope this letter reminds you all that in seven months, you'll be safely away from all the holiday bliss that I just mentioned, and it will almost be paid off. Winter is just settling in and there's nothing more that says vacation than a warm, sunny, trip to Maine with enough booze to keep anyone safe from frostbite. Since, I can't get down my own driveway in the snow, I thought I'd write this year's fishing invitation letter instead.

Our group was a little small last year. In fact, it was the smallest group in decades. I'm hoping it was a fluke because as our group shrank, the camp filled up with other groups taking up our spots. This year's trip is May 18th - 21st. I have to give the camp a general head count ASAP. They need to know how much space they have to reserve for us. If everyone that intends to go could email me at (c_d_chaffin@yahoo.com) with a head count of how many in your group, then I can wait on the deposits until Feb. 23rd. I will be looking for the following items to be mailed to my home by Feb.23rd, please: a filled out application that can be downloaded from our website www.Mayfishingtrip.com, a deposit of $100 per person that will be made out to Bear Spring Camps, and a boat motor preference of 6HP, or 14HP (with no guarantees due to the increased number of people now fishing that weekend.) A huge thank you to Phil Moore for continuing to host our website.

I would encourage everyone to invite new guys on the trip, or even old guys (we have a few already!) All the camp details can be found through the link to Bear Springs on our website. It's a great experience that can become an even better tradition. I don't personally gain anything from the camp to promote it. I just know how much it's meant to me and my family over the last 48 years! Also, we still have the tradition of the Thursday night stay in Dover, thanks to my brother, Tim Piano. We usually stay at the Days Inn, have cocktail hour, and dinner out on the town. It's always a great time to catch up and have some fun. Please, let us know if you will be joining us in Dover by checking the box on the fishing trip application.

We will continue running the fishing pools on Saturday and Sunday for bass and pike. The fee is $5 for each category, each day. Also, just a reminder that gratuity is not included with the rates. Please, remember to bring cash, or check, since they do not accept credit cards at the camp.

Best,
